Raki-Making on Crete

I've uploaded this one just to see if, by any chance, it runs better having been processed by You Tube. This is the 'kazani' right next door to our house - raki being stilled. Hell of a lot of wind noise and the last time I looked at it the picture and the sound kept breaking up.

Well, that seems to be running a lot better now.

Caroline kept yelling at me to turn it off - hates hearing her voice on video clips. I have to admit I don't like mine much. It's no wonder the Cretans have trouble with our crappy Greek.

the 'eaten alive by local fauna' (through the large intestine) part was gripping.

most of what these guys said sounded Italian. might want to check the map when youre out there next time. you actually may have a house in Italy.

Ho ho, Vaude, but yes, some Greek does sound a bit Italian. In fact when learning it it's good to try it with a faux Italian accent as it then comes out better.

It sounds similar to spanish, a bit? What does the finished product taste like then? Im assuming its a traditional greek or cretan drink?

Traditional Cretan drink, Spencer. It does have a distinctive taste but is basically alcohol before flavouring - like whisky or brandy before it's spent any time in the barrel.

I liked the homemade cigars too, they were sweet.

you might want to wave your arms around and say "prego! prego!" when you see a chicken over there. might be a hit.

you know about this writer bonus application?:

the 'lucky to own a mac' might be some kinda joke in there.

I'll really find out if they're sweet when they've cured for a bit longer, Spencer.

That's interesting, Vaude, and something I would like to run. But I don't own a Mac.

i wish Spinrad would've used that program, especially in LITTLE HEROES. by the end of the book i thought i was gonna lose it.

lucky you don't own a muck, um, er, mac. you would be expensively scammed if you got one unless you have someone who worked on em in your pal cache.
you can download perl here:

for all you mac users out there, look out for those power supplies. they make some easy crosswire fires since they're made so shitty and cheap. if you have one dont move the supply around too much or you might lose something dear (or a power supply).
